How content is produced

Content on singlemommeet is AI-assisted and human-edited. Drafts are produced with the help of AI tools, then reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by our editorial team before publication. The byline is an editorial pen name of that team; we never invent professional credentials.

Bylines and pen names

Callum Veitch is a pen name, and it belongs to this site’s editorial team rather than to a person you could look up. The name exists so that a page has somebody answerable for it. What it is allowed to claim is a point of view — the side of the table it writes from, which is the person dating a single mother — and nothing else. There are no credentials behind it: nobody here is a therapist, a counsellor or a family lawyer, and no page is written as though it were. No qualification, licence, job title or biographical fact is asserted for it anywhere on this site.

The portrait on the about page is not a photograph of a living person. It is an illustration generated with an AI tool, it carries a visibleAI-generated image label and a caption naming the byline as a pen name, and it is there to give a byline a face rather than to tell you whose.

Two things this byline never claims. It does not write as a single mother: nobody here has raised a child alone, and no page speaks in the first person about doing so — there are no invented children, no ages, and no family stories anywhere on the site. And it does not speak for readers: letters arrive at the address below and they change pages, but nothing that arrives is printed back as a quotation, because a letter is not consent to be published.

Sourcing & statistics

A primary source is the organisation that produced a figure and published it itself, such as theU.S. Census Bureau orPew Research Center.The fact gate is the check a number passes before it can appear anywhere here: named publisher in the sentence, stated year, and a URL somebody opened. For example, a household count stays a household count and is never restated as a count of people.

Every statistic we publish is verified against a primary source (the original study, government data, or the company's own reporting) and named in the same sentence it appears. Corrections

Found an error? Email hello@singlemommeet.com. We correct factual errors within a week, note the correction on the affected page, and update the page's modified date honestly — it only changes when the content substantively changes.

Every image on this site is generated, and every one carries a visible label saying so. Photorealistic frames are marked AI-generated image rather than the softer “illustration”, because a photograph-like picture of people is exactly the case where a reader could otherwise assume the people are real. They are not: no person in any image here exists, and no image is a photograph of anyone who writes this site. Charts drawn by us are marked Diagram. No image on this site depicts a child.
